Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrance Williams was arrested on a charge of public intoxication early Saturday after police responded to an accident involving his car and found Williams riding an electric bicycle on a road near his home.
Police in the Dallas suburb of Frisco said Williams' Lamborghini left a roadway and struck a light pole near the team's practice facility around 4:45 a.m. Saturday. Police say the driver had left the scene. Officers found Williams while investigating the crash.
Williams was released from jail on bond on the misdemeanor intoxication charge.
In a statement released by his attorney Authentic Barkevious Mingo Jersey , Williams said an officer he had met previously arrested him without performing a sobriety test. Williams said he was returning to the scene on a scooter to meet a tow truck driver.
The attorney, Chip Lewis, disputed the police account of Williams' vehicle hitting a light pole.
"Terrance did not hit a light pole and there was no light pole even near the vehicle," Lewis said. "Secondly, his arrest was wholly unrelated to the traffic accident."
Williams said he veered into the center median to avoid a collision when a man driving a vehicle in front of him hit his brakes. The two exchanged insurance information and a neighbor drove Williams home Authentic Terrell Edmunds Jersey , where the receiver said he called for a tow truck.
"I have always been an upstanding citizen and handled the situation the best way I know how," Williams said. "I apologize if I should have handled it a little bit differently."
The 28-year-old Williams was expected to miss all the offseason workouts after breaking his right foot in January and having surgery. The Cowboys released Dez Bryant in a cost-cutting move while signing two free agents and drafting two more receivers.
The Cowboys declined to comment.
The New York Giants have re-signed defensive end Kerry Wynn and added three other free agents, including a wide receiver who has returned kickoffs.
The Giants announced the moves Monday with the newcomers being receiver Cody Latimer, defensive end Josh Mauro and cornerback B.W. Webb.
Wynn has played in 49 regular-season games with 10 starts since making the team as a free agent out of Richmond in 2014. He has 91 tackles, three sacks Tyron Smith Jersey Womens , three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Last season, he played in 15 games with three starts.
Latimer played his first four seasons for the Denver Broncos, appearing in 45 regular-season games with three starts. He had 35 receptions for 445 yards and three touchdowns. Latimer also averaged 24.4 yards on 18 kickoff returns. He finished with a career-high 19 receptions for 287 yards and two touchdowns in 2017.
Mauro is being reunited with defensive coordinator James Bettcher. He played his four seasons for the Arizona Cardinals, the past three under Bettcher.
Undrafted coming out of Stanford, Mauro played in 47 games with 26 starts for the Cardinals. He had 92 tackles Ryan Jensen Color Rush Jersey , two sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He started seven of the 13 games last season.
Webb did not play in a regular-season game last season. He was on the Cleveland Browns‘ roster for one game in December but was inactive.
A fourth-round draft pick out of William & Mary in 2013, Webb had played with Dallas, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and New Orleans.
